  • Why ceramic specifically

    A ceramic element is the one filter medium you can restore. When flow slows, rinse under warm water and rub. The pores clear and the flow comes back — no tools, no cartridge, no purchase. Carbon cannot be washed. When it fouls, you buy a new one.

  • What it removes

    By size exclusion at 0.2 microns: sediment, turbidity, bacteria, protozoan cysts, and particulates including microplastics (1 µm and larger). The Aurmina chemistry does the dissolved-contaminant work; this element catches what settled out.

  • What housing it fits

    A standard ceramic dome — it drops into most gravity housings built for one. If you need a housing, our filtration guide lists three widely available options that accept a standard dome.
